Ever since I was two-and-a-half, I've been reading every book in my path, from biographies, to historical-fiction, to fantasy, to mysteries. But what exactly is my story?
My story begins in a reading nook, snuggling up close to my mom, listening to her read and sing magical tales. Lullabies, storybooks, and songs by "The Beatles." Books, music, and kindness would become the cornerstone of my childhood. I remember dancing to fun tunes by my favorite bands, singing my heart out with my ukulele in hand.
Fast forward a few years, and I'm playing the piano, gaming on my Xbox, singing in musicals, and shooting hoops. But no matter how many extracurricular activities I take part in, my love of reading never falters and my book journey continues to grow! In fact, quite shockingly to some, my book story took off in brand new directions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since the world basically shut down during the pandemic, and we were spending our days at home, my mom discovered new ways for me to connect with the outside world through virtual book clubs. I started attending online middle grade library book clubs and it was an incredible experience! During the pandemic and after, my book journey took me virtually to parts of Canada, all across the United States, and even Australia, all via zoom, and all thanks to public libraries!
I've read countless books and spoken with amazing librarians from all over! I've met incredible authors, read fascinating stories and I share my reading adventures on the "E Train Talks" Podcast! To add to my journey, I founded my own 501(c)3) nonprofit, E Train Talks, Inc., to help me end children's book deserts ( a book desert is an area where reading materials are difficult to obtain, often times due to lack of funds). Now I'm also sharing books with under-served schools and libraries in low-income communities. To date, I've collected over 4000 books for kids! I'm spreading book joy with kids around the country through school visits, virtual visits and attending community events. I'm beyond grateful for this life-changing book journey and I hope you'll travel along with me, as my story is never ending. I invite you to meet authors, listen to book talks, and discover your favorite next read on "E Train Talks!"
Follow my literacy journey & listen to my podcast! Hopefully you'll get inspired to visit new worlds, meet new and interesting characters, and get lost in epic adventures. Contact me at etraintalks@gmail.com to learn more or contribute to my cause!

I was so happy to attend the "Words take Wing," even at my local library! This event was all about honoring diversity in children's literature, with the award-winning author panel of Thanhha Lai, Pam Munoz Ryan, Grace Lin, and Dr. JaNay Brown-Wood. I was lucky enough to get a photo taken with all of these amazing storytellers!
